Samidha Vedabala (Ph.D., Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata), a performer and researcher of Indian Classical Music, Sitar. She has been working as an assistant professor of music in the Department of Music at Sikkim University since 2011. Along with performance in music, she is actively involved in academic research in Indian music. She has published two books and many academic journals. Her professional and academic association with Sitar inspires her to continue writing on the instrument and its various aspects. Her book titled "Sitar Music: The Dynamics of Structure and Its Playing Techniques" is one of them. Her work has been the source of information for one of the documentaries on Sitar in the UK. She has also attended many national and international seminars on sitar music.
As a writer, Dr. Samidha has been associated with Samadhwani for over a decade.

Dr. Kirtan Narayan Parhi, a distinguished musicologist and linguist, is renowned for his profound contributions to the field of music and language. Fluent in Odia, Sanskrit, Hindi, and English, Dr. Parhi holds a Sangit Praveen in Vocal Music and an honorary D.Litt. in Art and Music. His passion for collecting rare texts and palm-leaf manuscripts has greatly facilitated research works. A prolific writer of lyrical poems, he also excels in singing, composing, and directing music. Dr. Parhi has established and revived music institutes across Odisha, teaching both practical and theoretical aspects of music, along with its history and philosophy. An approved singer and lyricist of All India Radio since the mid-90s, he has directed and performed in numerous public functions and has been honored with prestigious awards, including the ‘Bhubaneswar Pustakamela Sammana’ and the ‘Niranjan Das Bhasa Sammana’ for his invaluable contributions to Odishi music and the Odia language.

Ms Swayamprava Parhi is a vocal Artist, a folk cultural researcher. She is the chief editor of Samadhwani cultural magazine. Swayamprava has been involved in the Village Biography Writing Initiatives with school students since 2005. During Covid-19, she initiated a new approach to work with school students. She shifted her village biography work online while tying up with different schools in Odisha. She edited a book comprising the writings of village biographies of school students written during Covid-19. She has extensively documented issues like the Food culture of Odisha, Syncretism in India, and Music of the Marginalized Artists. Now, she is focusing on the role of Women in the Performing Folk Art forms of Odisha. She also happens to be a Documentary Filmmaker. She produced her documentary “Ganda Baja” in 2022. She has been working closely with noted organic farmer Sri Natabar Sarangi since 2008 in the Narisho/Niali areas and documenting his childhood memories, life experiences and food history of coastal Odisha particularly of Puri and Cuttack district, both in written and audio-video formats.
